Parlon quits politics and presumably the ranks of the PD/SS

The ex-Minister of State for Finance, Tom Parlon, who was one of the many PD/SS TDs who were shafted by the electorate in the recent general election, has announced his retirement from politics.
Tom Parlon, who in his farming days made plenty of actual hay, and in his days as President of the Irish Farmers' Association lots of political hay, received wide publicity for his ill-advised attempts at making yet more political hay out of Minister MacGreedy's decentralisation announcement - more here.
