Gombeen Taoiseach announces date for step-down
So Bertie Aherne de Gombeen Taoiseach has finally seen the writing on the wall (it's so huge now that even a blind man could see it) and announced a date for his resignation. It's 11 months too late Bertie - if you had had the merest smidgen of integrity or honesty you would have stepped down before the last election given the questions about your shady money dealings while Minister for Ripping off the Citizenry of dis here Banana Republic in the early 1990s. So good riddance to bad rubbish I say.And we're not finished with you yet, baa-baa Bartholomew, given that you defrauded the public purse by not declaring monies received totalling almost 1 million Euro paying no tax on same, in addition to lying under oath to the Mahon Tribunal which is the crime of Perjury punishable by up to 2 years in prison.
It'll be interesting to see whether Bumbling Bertie gets what he deserves - what any ordinary citizen would get - a huge fine and a jail term. Given the propensity of this Banana Regime to protect its own I won't be holding my breath...
